Accord-Curious Newbie (Not owner - Yet)

Hi All,
My first post to this forum. I'm not an accord owner yet (driven several through the years). I have a 11 years old Honda Civic LX with 220K+ miles on it--going strong, but gets no respect on the road (constantly getting cut off).
I have a 10 years old Jeep Grand Turkey that does get respect on the road, but is falling apart (literally). Need a new car and my target is the accord.
I've driven plenty of cars in my business and have narrowed my selection to the accord over the camry.
Question: I noticed that there's mention of accord generations. I'm looking to get a 2006 or later model -- I know they are reliable, but are there any issues that I should consider -- technical or mechanical?

Appreciate any advice.

Welcome!
Looking at 4-cyl or V-6?
Auto or manual tranny?

Starting 2003 the 4-cyl has a timing chain, no more belt. V-6 still (even today?) has a belt. From your Civic you know what that means...

Manual 5-speeds have been bulletproof. The automatics from 98-02 (6th-gen) were problems, especially the V-6 ones. Todays V-6 auto tranny may have inherited some issues?? Beginning in 2003 the 4-cyl auto-tranny is all completely different.

I've heard complaints of excessive notchiness in the 6-speed manual that comes on certain versions of the V-6.

Welcome to the HAF...not a lottery but sometimes feels like one...

I believe as you do, invest in the lottery...the market is very unstable and seems as tho it will stay that way..
