Does Honda dealer have to do the 30000 mile service?
Is this true?- "Intermediate Service: This service is performed at the 15,000 mile mark and then again at 30,000-mile intervals. According to Honda, this is the minimum requirement to maintain your new car warranty?

I've heard that it is illegal in the US for stealerships to require service performed at the dealer. As long as you get it done by a certified mechanic with stamps and paper receipt you should be fine if it's ever questioned by Honda.

I don't see why you can't do the work yourself. As long as you keep receipts of what parts/fluids you used. Put it this way: do you think Honda techs take their Hondas in to the dealer to get serviced? Or do you think they do the work themselves? What about retired Honda techs?

ORIGINAL: finch13 I've heard that it is illegal in the US for stealerships to require service performed at the dealer... If you do the work yourself, its a little harder to prove when you only have receipts for the parts. Thats only a problem if you make a warranty claim for some item that can be caused by NOT doing that particular service. |
