Engine Maintenance light codes?

Default Engine Maintenance light codes?
Just bought my wife a 1999 Honda Accord 6 cyl. Engine Maintenance light is on. Checked gas cap, 3 thrips, still on. Went to AutoZone to see if we could find the code but couldn't locate the On board ? socket to check the engine recorded codes. Where is the socket?
