RE: hey hey hey
Welcome to the forum! If you got the cold air intake (cai) off of eBay then I would replace it with a higher quality filter, but others on the site say it doesnt really matter. Anyways, if you dont know already be careful with cai's in heavy ains and big puddles. Dont want your engine hydrolocking. So what are your plans for it? I had big plans for my Accord and its taken awhile to get the things ive wanted with my budget. Deal wise, check out the sites sponsors and of course eBay. Many times if you buy stuff from the same seller they'll give you free or discounted shipping n such. Good luck and welcome again!
PS, feel free to post pics of your ride in the gallery section |

RE: hey hey hey
yeah i'm driving a four door/ four cyl. 2000 honda accord se... i just installed my cold air intake yesterday... definatly sounds alot better from my old stock air flow box... and you can feel the difference even if it is a cheap one from ebay....

RE: hey hey hey
even the cheap ebay ones aren't bad at all.... they can give you some good throttle response

RE: hey hey hey
if you unstalled a full cold air intake system,, i would install the bypass valve s well,, just in case you go through a lot of water ,, the valve will prevent engine from sucking water in the intake and a possible hydralock ......
if it is a short ram , than you are ok..no need to worry |
RE: hey hey hey
good point... take it from someone who has been there a Bypass valve could/will save your engine.... I blew a motor because I didn't have one...

RE: hey hey hey
I was wondering if I also need to install a bypass valve if I'm living here in Los Angeles? It's mostly dry but during the spring seasons (aprox. march-may) it have some very heavy rain for like one week long. Will rain water get in if I drive on local streets and/or on the freeway? Flooding or splashing won't be an issue, only rain if I'm driving.
