Maintenance

I have a 1996 Accord EX with V6 2.7L. I had the transmission serviced and oil changed when I asked about if the filter was changed I was told it did not have one. I went to a parts store and the found one and said the transmissioin had to be disassembled. Has anyone had their trans filter changed? If so how much?

I had trans maint done and all they did was change oil. When I asked if they changed the transmission filter they said it did not have one. I went to the parts store and they found the filter for the transmission and said it requires a disasimbaly of the trans...is this correct? Has anyone changed their trans filter?

I am not aware of any transmission filter. Is the trans shifting rough or somethnig?

I don't know about the V-6 but it seems Honda auto trannysnormally have a screen that DOES require taking the tranny apart. That's why it's not a normal piece of maintenance; doesn't show up on maintenance schedules.

The filter is a simple screen; not really meant to be replaced. it is apparently possible with a complete teardown, but isn't something you really wanna do unless your tranny is real messed up

I figured there must be a filter screes somewhere. I went and looked on Majestic Honda's website and I didn't see it though. I wouldn't want to go through all that trouble to replace it unless I knew it absolutely needed to be replaced.
