New to the Honda family
Hello,
I just bought my first Honda, a not-so-new 1989 Accord LX-i, 5-speed. She is in pretty good shape for 20 years on this earth but still needs a little TLC. Me and my wife had 2 sons in as many years so I had to sell my 2001 Maxima to liquidate some cash so she could be out of work for a while. My classic accord is a bit of a step back in technology but I think that may be a good thing. -Mike |
i loved my 89 accord i had to 240,000 loved it, when i sold it the guy got it to 289,000 and then his sis said he wrapped it in to a tree, hes alive i think.

Hello Mike,
I have never had a newer car, And probably never will.. It's because I don't want one, I don't like them at all.. My first car was an 87 Civic, Then I bought my 1989 Accord last year, and now have my 1992 Accord.. I loved my 1989, And then some piece of crap stole it today.. The MPG on those are awesome.. Mine was a salvage, And it ran like a dreamboat I tell ya.. I'm sure you will like the Honda family life B) |
They guy I bought it from was the original owner, and had it regularly serviced at his local Honda dealer. It only has 160K on it, which is crazy for a 20 year old car, so I am sure I will get some mileage out of it. There are a few things that don't work quite right and the tan interior needs a real good cleaning but it just ran through inspection without a problem. I much prefer the simplicity of older cars. I don't know what I am going to do 10 years from now when all these late 80's & early 90's Japanese cars rust away?!?

I know what you mean.. The 80's models are creeping up to classic status.. Its good to have a piece of the history:cool:
