Honda Accord Forum - Honda Accord Enthusiast Forums - New member...considering new Accord

Hey all. I'm new here. I currently drive an '01 Accord LX and am looking to trade up. I'm looking at both the 2007 Accord EX-L V6 w/navi and the 2006 Acura TSX (without navi)...and am having trouble deciding. I think in the long run (being a family guy), the Accord would probably be a better fit, but I've heard about transmission problems and other issues with the current generation. My 2001 LX had to have the transmission replaced at 50,000 miles, and while it was replaced free of charge by Honda I don't want to buy another car with a known defect like that. Have they sorted that all out with the '07 models? What have ya'll been paying for your EX-L V6 with navi's?...or rather, what would be a reasonable price for me to aim for? What about road noise. While I've loved the ride/handling of my '01, it does suffer from excessive road noise. Is that still a common complaint? It's hard to tell on just a test drive (all new cars seem to be quieter for some reason until they get a couple thousand miles on them).

I've found plenty of TSX/Accord comparisons, so I have a pretty good feel for the differences. However, the one biggest thing for me is that the TSX is made in Japan and the Accord in the US. We have an '06 Pilot (built in the US) and I've not been overly happy with it. It suffers from an abundance of rattles and squeaks, and I worry that the US-made Accord may also suffer these quality-control issues. What are your feelings? In searching the forum, I haven't found any real complaints about this kind of stuff. In comparison, if one searches the Pilot forums this seems to be a common complaint...so perhaps the Pilot is just a dud. Anybody not happy with the build-quality of their Accord?
