sixth gen 2000 accord coupe
i started bodywork on this project and now have to replace my rear brake pads. i was hoping for some suggestions on a good performance kit to replace the existing rotors without spending any money on new rims (only decent "big brake" kits i found were for 17" wheels and for 6 cylinder models). i plan on putting a j35a4 in it at some point as well as new rims, so the cheaper the better for now. or should i just hold off on the performance upgrades until i swap out the motor? as you can probably tell i'm pretty new to working on my own car so any helpful information i could get would be much appreciated. (my local dealer has a brake special going on for the next week and i'm considering just having them do it) thanks for your time!

check out tasauto.com for brake parts.
I would probably just keep regular pads and save the money, as the front brakes do most of the braking anyways. But its all up to you. |
if i were to replace anything i would do both. do you think it would be worth just waiting until i get the new engine?

Well upgraded brakes are always nice, so its nice to have now or later if you plan on doing both. And if its something you want to do, and your brakes need to be replaced now then maybe you should.

most of the brake kits i find are for huge rims. are there any decent ones i can get with the crapped out factory rims i have?

i found these pretty quickly on that site.
T.A.S. Auto Parts would they work with the original wheels? |
