You won't get a replacement remote!

Bought new 2009 Accord, now done 15K miles.
Remote key stopped working. Dealer would not replace it - they showed me letter from Honda which said there was a bug in Civic and Honda remotes and I would have to wait till they fixed it. They advised turning battery a quarter turn which obviously didn't work for long, nor bending battery contacts. Protested direct to Head Office Honda, who rudely denied replacement. Asked will it be the same story if a drive shaft goes and they said we will consider it. Pathetic that Honda can't design a remote.
On visit to dealer, waited 2 hours for decision on remote, then was told they had 'lost' my car! Thought they smashed it or it was stolen but no! We went into the workshop where I found my car had been dismantled, wheels off, etc! A mechanic had used another customer's remote to open my car and they took it for an inspection! Wish I could have kept the other customer's remote!
Probably back to Subaru again soon.

It seems that Lady Luck is not with you. We get far more mechanical problems with Subaru in the UK than we do with Honda.

I would definitely report that dealership to the Better Business Bureau

personally I don't believe you.

Falkore: You are entitled to you opinion, but we'd appreciate it if you make an attempt to not come across as a prick. Thanks for your consideration.

Thank you for your less than constructive opinion of my forum contribution. The Honda ServiceNews Article is entitled 'Keyless Remote Sometimes Works', dated March 2009. I can send you a copy if you like and can also send you the dealer's name so you can phone them to confirm my description of events. I can give you Honda Customer Service as well so you can ask them about replacement remotes.
Or perhaps you want to live in this forum as part of a mutual admiration society saying 'Have a Nice Day'?

Have a nice day!
