turbo
hey im new to this, but i was looking to buy a used turbo from a freind im pretty sure its a garret t3
i have a 99 accord lx and i was wondering what all i would need? and he was asking 250 for the turbo.....i know i definatley need oil lines pipes intercooler...but would i need a new header and a smaller radiator? |
RE: turbo
i think it's expensive... the search function isn't working, so I won't tell you to search... so i'll just say that u don't need a smaller radiator. you are going to need a turbo manifold (aka header for NA cars)... it's expensive... If you mind me asking... how old are you?

RE: turbo
90 percent of what i know about cars i taught myself so dont get let down but the project is huge and your car is going to have some significant downtime. study real hard before you even lift a wrench. dont touch anything if you cant teacha random person right off the top of your head Exactly how to do the job from top to bottom. to start with you will need a new header, you have to deal with the fact that your map ( manifold absolute pressure ) sensor only reads vacuum, and that as the turbo spools, more air is forced into the engine, so you will need to find a way to add more gas depending on how much boost your pushin. there is some useful info on the site here. good luck
