Best year for Honda Odyssey?

Looking into maybe getting an Odyssey. Though I know they were plagued by transmission problems for years. What year do you think is the best years for transmission? How much could you tow with an Odyssey? Thanks

I ended up with an '09. Thanks for the input.

I think 08 and 09 are good transmission models.

That was a resurection of a post that really didn't get answered for awhile. :)

I like the late 3rd Generation Odys, specifically the 2008-2010 model years. I own an 08 EX. All of the Odysseys from 2007 on had the Ridgeline transmission installed-much more robust than the trannys on the earlier models. Just stay away from the Tourings with the Michelin PAX run-flat system-there are numerous posts on Ody forums about "De-PAXing"

I ended up with an 09 Touring with no PAX wheels. A few minor issues. It needs a CV axle, clicking already at 30k miles but there's a TSB out for it. Also has the gap in the passenger airbag lid which there's a TSB for. Drives very nice though.
