Here's my 1965 Chevy Corvair Convertibe. Bought it in 1983. Air cooled flat six.

Nice looking car :)

How old do they have to be to be called "classic"?

The Chevelle I have should work/fit. My dad bought it brand new in August of 1966.

I think "Classic" is a term that can mean different things to different people. Your Chevelle would be a classic. Your Chevelle was the Accord of the day.

I believe that the car is a classic when it becomes 20 years old...that's when the plates come out with Classic for your car..

I would have to agree with Corvair....it will mean different things to different people. That is why I din't even bring up the old ford or the 3rd gen.

Each state has their own rules for "classic" or "vintage" license plates. Sometimes those rules include how many miles you're allowed to drive. So let's just say COOL or INTERESTING...

I used to have a 1974 BMW 2002tii which I thought was pretty cool. Until the body rusted out (especially the floor).

I agree.....just add a bit of age to it.

That is why I don't consider the 89 Accord or the Ford a "classic". They have their place. The Ford, I can haul whatever I wan't with no worries about "scratching/denting" the truck.....I don't care, it was $600.

The 89 Accord, well it was Wade's car so it will be with me for a long time....it's my little buddy.
