Default Gas Milage

New to the site, and just out of curiousity, is it normal for your vehicle to gain 30 more miles to a tank. Mine has 201,000 miles and I've experinced this on the last 4 fill-ups. No change in driving habits or route, it's got me a little puzzled and should I be concerned??

It would be if the weather suddenly got warmer and/or your fuel went from E10 to 100% gasoline and/or the fuel filler nozzle clicked off at a different point. In all honesty, a thirty mile variance on a tank of fuel is pretty insignificant; our Accord can range from the high 200s to the mid to high 400s on a single tank. Even when used in our "normal" driving patterns the tank range can fluctuate over 100 miles.

weather is still the same, maybe 10deg increase lately, hasn't warmed up yet and still putting 87 octane in the tank as usual, just found it a little odd.

All things considered, it would be impossible for you to drive so consistently that you got within 30 miles per tank, tank after tank after tank. Long story short, a 30 mile variance is irrelevant.

Winter blend gas vs "summer blend". I'm not a chemical engineer but I know the gas companies change the "make up" of the gas during winter months.

In the winter months I get about 1.5~2 mpg less....so on a 13 gallon fill up, average amount I need when I fill up....thats almost 30 miles right there.

Just my theory
