wishing jesus a happy birthday, i realize people believe thats what x-mas is. but if you research it, it was some time in spring.

Couple of interesting misconceptions in this thread, huh?

There's a lot of dispute about Jesus' birthday, but most acedemic arguments say Herod's census was not in December. But nobody can agree on WHEN he was born.

About that thumbs-up & thumbs-down thing... I've heard that in those brutal games in Rome, thumbs-down used to mean "don't kill him". But there's a lot of acedemic dispute about that.

In many countries thumbs-UP is an obscene gesture & certainly NOT G-rated. We wouldn't allow a one-finger salute around here, so maybe we should acknowledge that thumbs-up is equivalent?
