newer accords
I am looking to getting a newer accord lx 2012 or a2013 both with manual trans. how is the 2012 on reliability and the 2013 has the direct injection engine. how are they as far as reliability goes. I hope to have it last like my other two 194k on my 94 and 287k on the 89.

The 2012 Accord is an 8th generation while the 2013 is a 9th generation. I owned a 2011 (8th gen) and traded in on a 2015 (9th gen)... there is a great deal of difference, in my opinion, as to comfort & performance between the 8th and the 9th.. with the 9th generation being preferable.
Once again, merely my observation |
We have a 2012 EX-L Coupe and we're quite happy with it, however, I have not driven a 9th gen.

The 8th generation Accord is a great car, my 2011 gave me terrific service |
I have a '14 with the 6 speed manual. Direct injection is great. Over 40,000 miles and it's had zero issues. Direct injection has been around a while. Bugs should be worked out.

I had a 2014 Accord Plug In but had the worst service for simple things like oil and cabin filter changes. The car was ok but I took a look at the 2016 Ford Fusion Plug In and went with it right away. Much more car and a lot less cost. Your post was in January...did you get anything yet?
