Time for A/C...
Replaced all the Schrader Valves, cleaned all area's, Leak-Tite all fittings, and Now, Ima pullin a Vacuum on the system to see how bad, or good it is, 1st time checkin this cars A/C system...Got my fingers CROSSED !!!

Did you replace all orings? The orings seal, not the threads.
It should hold good vacuum for 15+ mins after vacuuming for 15 mins.
Suggest vacuuming for at least 1 hr before charging.
Is this a retrofit, R134a or R12 charge?
If you have leaks, some places to look are compressor shaft seal, evaporator expansion valve, and all connections.
good luck

Another common leak is the pressure switch; pull the connector and look for oil in the connector well.
I don't retro fit with 134a, the molecule is way smaller than R-12, and you really need a larger condensor area.
Freeze-12 is S.N.A.P. approved and gives the same pressures and cooling as R-12.

It held a good vacuum, for more than enough time... And Ya, Ima using that Freeze 12. Some people say you can just use r-134a, but it is structured different, and cant remove the same amount of heat needed, and achieved by r-12...134a is not as efficient as R-12 was, and I dont wanna do a total conversion at this time or any time soon...Still got one more week till I get my DL back...
