What's better

Bying a Supercharger for my 4cy or engine swop for a 6cy
By the way I have a 2008 Honda accord sedan I'm in the process of making a body kit and so I would like more power to pull my 20"s

Tek310 06-30-2011 09:40 PM

you have 20s on a accord? to each their own i suppose..

throw the v6 in there

Joey6458 06-30-2011 10:29 PM

yeah there 20s and they rub a tiny bit too
im going to cut out some of my shock fender then i should be ok
but would you know if at least most of the linkages would match from the 4cy body to the 6cy motor of the same year car?

Tek310 06-30-2011 11:43 PM

it will most likely be a complpete redue of your wire harness and accessories.

tell you the truth i think you should slap a turbo kit instead.

check out dallasimports.net

ride of the month is a civic si with the k24 and turbo charged. its a beast making 500hp

check it out

Joey6458 06-30-2011 11:56 PM

yeah thats pretty sick
right now my car makes noise but moves like stock
and its from my intake and it ONLY makes noise when the v-tec opens or turns on

Tek310 07-01-2011 10:01 AM

is it automatic?

those heavy wheels will put some heavy strain on it. i would also think about upgrading you suspension as well.

Energy Suspension offers polyurethane bushings.

the 4 cylinder engine is way underpowered for the heavier gen accords, i think they should come standard v6 like the impala. 4 cylinder engine has no business in a car that weighs over 3000lbs.

i had a 05 impala with the smaller v6 3400. only had 180hp but had 205tq to lug that weight around.

Joey6458 07-01-2011 10:09 AM

My car is 4399lb and I do agree about the v6 but I had no say in the car
Gas was high at the time my parents both have big v8s and I needed a car
I could get a new car but I want the sti, evo or 2 ss camaro and this is paid off so I stuck with this I'll get another car later

Tek310 07-01-2011 05:24 PM

4399? thats most likely the GVWR, it basically tells you how much weight the car can handle

yeah i checked ur car weighs 3,373

oh yeah thats one wide body for sure

piggylover1985 07-01-2011 07:02 PM

I'll vote for the naturally aspirated V6 if you have the money, should be more reliable then adding boost. I like boost myself but i don't think they're that reliable. Any big power adder will put more stress on the engine. Unless it was manufactured that way, because most of the parts including internal parts were beefed up for turbocharged or supercharged car.

Joey6458 07-01-2011 07:18 PM

Yeah I know lover of pigs
My engine is made for a lower compression then what a boost would add
I'm not look for loads of power cuz in all I am drive a family car
Oh and tec310 It dose look really wide in the pics but it's only a 1/2 inch wider on both side ( just enough to keep mud from splashing all over my fender when I hit a puddle )
