Why do people hate imports?

Why do people hate imports?
Because they are better quality? Better fuel economy? Cheaper to own and modify?

What do you think?

Maybe because they're jealous? That would feed into any Honda fan's need to hate anything that's NOT a Honda.

Some people hate them because they think of taking jobs away from Americans. Especially these days. But when Accords are made in Ohio, Nissans, Toyotas, Mitsus, & others are also built (or at least assembled) in USA, that situation gets more complicated.

I could say that I hate pickup trucks. That doesn't mean I HATE them really. Sorta means I wouldn't choose to own one myself. Partly because I see so many that have obviously NEVER had a large load of gravel & they're just using tons of gasoline.

I would guess it's because of the negative image ricers give imports

Angelo I hope that was sarcasm, if I hate any cars it's those, and the drivers of course...

A lot of cars under foreign brands are now made in US by American workers. Thus, I sleep soundly at night knowing that even though I bought a Honda Accord, it was made by American workers in Marysville, Ohio.

A honda accord that is 85% us/canada content is not an american car because the corporation is from Japan. The dodge journey that is 30% us/canada content is an american car because the corporation is from american.

Most people only look at the name of the vehlcle and not where it is produced. How much of chrysler is owned by americans these days? Patriotism is a good thing, but it does not mean that people have to buy inferior poorly designed american cars just to support rich executives and engineers that can't design themselves out of a wet paper bag.

If a person trades their cars in every 3 years and it always has a warranty then they may never know just how bad their domestic car are and how good these imports are and will continue to purchase whatever their parents bought.
