Why do people try to knock education?
As some of you may have read, some people choose to knock education on this board as being bad, or are possible intimated by it. One of my main critics choose to belittle my choice of topic for my Thesis; Tcp/Ip integrationin Aviation. Just thought I would pass a link on from an article this morning from the Seattle Times.

Get over yourself!!!! No one is knocking education. Quit trying to stir up problems where none exist.

Yo Zex....I personally do not have an answer for you as to why people do what they do in this case knock down education as you stated,,,,,,,
why are some people racists?? why some people knock down gays ? why do some people join gangs?? why do some people don't like this or that ..Who knows ..???
we are all different , that's what makes us what we are , , noone can argue or question other people desires, taste, preferences etc.. etc ...
you can take a horse to water , but you cannot force it to drink ...
the way i look at it,, always improve yourself with as much knowledge as you can and i do not mean only academically but street smart as well
We have a saying in my old country ( Italy )... 10 feet away from my butt , you can do anything you like .. it is your life live it as you see it fit

Most of the people I know who have formal educations despise people who try to brag about their scholastic accomplishments.
I, like desert believe in obtaining all the knowlege and education humanly possible. I am sure there are PLENTY of members who have college degrees and more on this HAF. There are also plenty of members who are still in high school. That is the beauty of it. Formally educated people should NEVER, EVER try to belittle someone by saying garbage like "you are probably still in high school." It just makes you look bad and gives youngsters a bad example of what gettinga good education is all about.
Obviously your BS and MS in computer science didn't teach you any manners.
