That commercial is still so cool to watch...

I've heard that its NOT computer animated. May be an urban legend, but they dismantled one of the first couple 7th-gen prototypes (back in 2001 or 2002) which was NOT what Honda wanted anyone to do at that point. But they liked the commercial.

I bet the wheels were done with large weights inside the tires. Balance weights wouldn't have been heavy enough.

Anyways its not animated. I too read an article and it took them over 100 tries to get it to work flawlessly!

That is CGI without a doubt, just using high resolution picture textures. You can tell it's not natural.
