Apparently this is a dumb question, but what is a K20?

The Elise uses a 1.8 Toyota engine that is supercharged.

It's the engine block code for the engine in Civic SI's. The second half of the code indicates the head or build.

The older Lotus's came with the Celica GTS motor/trans, now they come with the K20a2 and 6spd atleast as far as I know.

Exactly what I thought. But I just looked on Wikipedia, and it appears all of the Lotus Elise/Exiges have "Toyota supplied"DOHC engines. Unless I am missing something....

Isn't that what I said? The Elise uses a 1.8 Toyota engine that is supercharged.

The only thing I have read is that all Lotus come from the factory with the 1.8L 'Yota and Prototype Racing makes a full K20 and 6spd swap for it.

Here's another vid: lotus elise k20a engine swap

Either the driver sucks or that 325 horses is way to much for the Lotus platform to handle, I'm leaning towards driver. Notice how the car looks really unsteady?

apparently he was running....40 (FOURTY) psi...(confirm this please).

WHAT.THE.HECK. would you do that? Sure the engine block can handle it, but the pistons, etc. can't for sure....hence the car died. What an idiota

finch13 05-30-2008 07:03 PM

RE: This is a nice k20 powered car

Where did you read the 40?

Here's the equal length header that comes in the Prototype Racing K20 kit. It's f****** crazy!
