RE: Brakes?

No reason they can't be posted here since there is not a section for brakes.

RE: Brakes?

Well since we are talking about brakes I have ceramic brakes on my accord and they are pretty sweet.

RE: Brakes?

I also have the ceramic on both fronts and rears..

Best thing about the ceramics is no squeal and no fadeing when you need to stop Quick!
and "Thank God For No Brake Dust" on those pretty wheels I have...

RE: Brakes?

LOL I love the no brake down stuff but Do you agree that they feel way different form normal brakes. They feel kinda of grittier even though that they do seem to stop faster.

RE: Brakes?

its amazing what the ceramic pads to....my put ceramics on my dads 30 foot motor home...it increased stopping ability tenfold...although when very hot, which they do get when towing a 20 foot traler on a 30 foot motor home...they do make a bit of noise...

RE: Brakes?

And I also find that they get that smell easier when you are braking hard messing around.

RE: Brakes?

hehe

I use ceramic on both of my cars

You can put the crossdrilled rotors on - it will release the gasses faster and cool faster - I use Brembo but any crossdrilled will do.

Hi there member..

This question can be answered by putting it to the general repair area but I will Caution You as to not say someting like "If you have to ask, you shouldn't be doing it!!!"

This little saying will get you angry e-mails and other members who will feel that you may think you are above their knowledge---so I would suggest that if you have the Knowledge and youv'e done them before yourself that you become Their HERO and Help Them Out with such Questions....

Where do we post questions about brakes?

I just know someone is going to post a question about how to remove the front rotors on their 90-97 Accord...
I want to be the first to reply with---If you have to ask you shouldn't be doing it!!!

Hello guys. I just had to do rear brake work on my 96 accord lx v6

replaced both rotors, brake pads, 1 wheel stud, and rear washer camber trick.
where do you buy one of those + thing to turn the piston back? i had to ghetto rig it with 14mm wrench and a screw driver.

RE: Brakes?

Any suggestions on brake manufactures? I'm looking at the Power Slot OEM replacements for the front and rear of my 2000 LX V6 coupe. I'm trying to find some opinions. Seems like they (Power Slot) recommend Hawk brake pads as well. The questions I have are: 1) what are the best types of brake rotors for everyday to 'I wanna speed!' driving, 2) what, if any, types of calipers would I need to get, 3) how do aftermarket rotors/pads effect the ABS system, 4) how concerned do I need to be with warpage issues, and 5) what would be the best type of pads to use with new rotor packages. I'm not sure if there is anything else. This is a 'new' car for me, and I plan on doing much to it, so expect to see me asking questions elsewhere about similar add-ons, purchases, and such.
