2009 sedan creaking sound while turning PLEASE HELP
Trying to diagnose this sound on a 2009 accord. its an lx 2.4 4 cyl. Something on either the suspension or steering has been making a creaking sound but only while turning. The sound is coming from the front passenger side, but it makes the sound when turning in either direction. It does NOT make the sound when turning with the vehicle stationary, only when going around a bend or turning from a stop sign, etc. It seemed like the most probable cause would be the sway bar bushings and/or end links. I replaced both the bushings and end links hoping it would solve the problem, but it didn't help and is still making the same noise. I did note that the old ones were pretty worn out, but its still making the sound so that tells me something else is the culprit.
I have put it on my lift and did the ball joint and tie rod check by grabbing the tire at the top and bottom to check for ball joint play and grabbing on the sides to check for tie rod play. There is no movement or play whatsoever, so I was convinced they arent causing this issue. Again, the sound is only coming from the passenger side, but I can hear it when turning both to the left and right while moving. Since it doesnt make the sound when turning them in park, it would also seem that it not an issue with the power steering, but maybe its something with the rack and pinion?
Anyone have an idea or similar issue? Ive tried everything I can think of, but dont want to keep just throwing more parts at the issue and wasting more time and money after already replacing the sway bar bushings and end links. The creaking sound coming from the passenger side is best described as sounding like an old door slowly closing. Doesnt make the sound when braking/coming to a stop, just while slowly turning around a bend or stop sign. My next guess would be the strut/spring, or maybe one of the control arm bushings? Maybe one of the ball joints is still bad even though there is no play and the boots look fine with no rips or tears. I am leaning towards the strut/spring, but wouldnt it make that sound any time its being compressed, such as during braking, and not only while turning?
I have also tried spraying everything one by one with lubricant in hopes of identifying the culprit, also to no avail.
If anyone has any advice or similar experience can please chime in would be greatly appreciated!
