Axel nuts

Axel nuts
I have an 04 accord,2.4,stick. I have been trying for days to get the axel nuts off, I have broke ratchets, breaker bars, I have tried to put torch on them, I have even bought a new 750ft lb air impact. Still can’t get them off. The car had brand new axels put in just before I bought it, the mechanic that did the install said he used a torque wrench and torqued to spec. I guess I will have to cut the nuts off and hopefully don’t damage the axels!

You may be subject to someone putting red loc tite on the threads. What I would do is take a 3/4 breaker bar, 3in extension and a long pole (I usually use the one of my jack), with the car on the ground, withwheel on try to break the nut (maybe heat it up first).
I have had to take a wheel saw to one that had red loc tite on it but I didn't mind changing the axle either.

Just to give an update... I got the axel nuts off with a 6’ long 1” 750ft lb torque wrench. There was no loctite on it, I’m not sure what the problem was. Also, I started the work on the front end because I was getting a shimmy under acceleration. The car had new axels and motor mounts right before I bought the car. I have now put new lower control arms, lower ball joints, upper control arms, upper ball joints. Now it only shakes bad from 30-50 mph. Up to the 30mph mark there is little to no shake, and after 50mph the shake fades, and almost can’t feel it. I will be changing tie rod ends and sway bay end links and sway bar bushings soon. That should fix any more of the vibrations.
