AWMG! upper control arms SUCK
I dropped the accord more today and my upper control arms just mash the fender so much any ideas on how to stop this? (without raising it back up....)
|
Your going to either raise your car back up, or roll the fender well and pray that solves the problem.
Also, What car, year..whats your ride height, camber degrees..etc.. All important information when asking a vague question on the internet. And the search function does work, this topic has been covered before. |
my bad 91 accord lx 2 door camber angle is maybe -1.5-2 degrees rife height im not sure pretty sure its dropped 2.5 to 3 inches from stock height im not to sure i just cranked my coilovers the rest of the way down. the top of the control arm is mashing the top of the inner fender. sorry i should of said where the strut bolts in

Adj. balljoints for a camber kit on the front? Those are known to hit.
You will either have to raise it or cut part of the metal out in the engine bay so the control arm won't hit. Most lowriders (the style) have most of the metal inner fender in the engine bay removed to tuck the tire up farther. |
is that safe to do? will it effect the handling any and do you know where i can read up on it more
|
All that steel contributes to the stiffness of the front end, as well as structural integrity in a collision. Those low-riders may not be concerned with that as much as you are? And they probably aren't doing autocrossing or track racing either. What's YOUR goals for the car?

I guess im gonna have to raise it back up I like to hit up the twisty back roads at high speeds and see what i can pull off so no cutting here
