coilovers

so i have a 2001 accord 4 cyl accord and it has 17s on it with max speed drop springs. well the drop springs just didnt cut it cuz it really didnt drop the car and theres still a gap. my tires are 215/40/rz17 and thats probably why also.

im on a budget of $200 to drop my car so i may buy ground controls coilover sleevesbrand new for $175 and run it with the stock strut/shocks for now.what do you guys think of this set up for now?

will it be too bouncy you guys think

mahalos

Save your money and buy some decent shocks with those coilovers. It wont kill you to wait, you dont need dropped right now.

coilover springs are linear and have to be strong enough to keep the car from bottoming at the lowest drop setting. From what I recall, GC-s go pretty low, like 3-3.5 in. drop, so they'd have to be stiff. I wouldn-t expect the stock struts to last long especially since you are looking for about a 2-2.5 in drop from stock. Up to 3 months, fine ..... but I wouldn't do the work twice if it were me. Better off saving up for the struts first and doing it once. I-m assuming that you already have camber adjustments from the springs that you have on there. If not, the Ingalls front control arm setup is all that I-d recommend. The offset ball joints have to be ground down to not hit bad, but they will still hit the car on big bumps and regardless, I killed a set of them in a year. The better setup lasted until the tranny cr@pped out.
