RE: front sub replacement

I am facing the same job. I took a good look and the lower arms swing down, the rear motor mount needs to be removed, steering rack removed (might be fun to disconnect the column) and the cradle will unbolt right off. Local junkyard said $100 for the cradle.

Anyone here compleated this before, any suggestions?

RE: front sub replacement

FONZ........he is talking about the frt beam .. ( cross-member )

you are referring to the rear beam

the frt beam is a piece of cake,, you got to disconnect the bolt for the frt motor mount from the top i believe it is a 14mm ..
raise the car
remove the frt splash shield

remove the 2 ,17mm nuts for each side of the radius rods,
put a floor jack under the engine,
remove the 4 ( 2 on each side ) 17mm bolts that hold the beam to body of car,
you might have to remove some clips that hold some tubing or hoses

pry down on the beam and slide it out from the radius rods
I have not done one of these in a looooong time but i think i got all the steps down..

the rear beam is a lot more complicated.a lot more work involved + you need to realign the car after ward
