Lowering suspension questions.93 Se

1) I have 17's-believe (-40) offset-dont remember- on stock suspension- I bottom out- i understand why and all. I plan on getting coilovers-Question- Will i still bottom out with coilovers or do i have to get stiff lowering springs?

2)I heard there are things that might have to be done under the hood for protection when lowering - something about motor dampeners. Are these an absolute must??

Thats all- just these two questions- Thanks.

1) If you're bottoming out on bumps now, your shocks are probably blown. If you get a good set of shocks, the springs shouldn't matter all that much. The more you lower, the stiffer the spring will be, no way around it.

2) Complete bull****. All that needs to be done when lowering is swapping out the shocks and springs and getting a wheel alignment done after, possibly a camber kit in the rear. Your +40mm offset wheels could possibly rub, depending on how low you go.
