Questions about lowering?
I have a 96 Accord LX that I wanna drop a bit. My questions are:
1. Do I NEED a camber kit? 2. If I drop 1.5-2 inches, what is the max rim size I can go without tires rubbing? 3. Coilovers or springs? (where's the cheapest place I can get either?) |
U can drop car with no need of camber I had a 2.5 drop with 225/45/18 minor rub on inner rear wheel only rubbed when 5 ppl on car. Now I got eibach pro kit springs work real well. Looking to sell by the way want to go lower.

1. You do not need a camber kit. Anything under a 2" drop you can get away with just getting the car aligned (make sure you have 0 degrees toe), and keep your air pressure at recommended levels.
2. I would recommend 17s. They fit the body very well, and still allow you to run a good sized tire, for comfort and security. 3. I would say Coilovers any day. Because you have the adjustability, you can raise/lower the car exactly to your liking. The cheapest coilovers that are worth getting (stay away from no-name junk), are Function&Form Type 1s. You can get them for $600 shipped on eBay. F&F were designed for people who want to just slam their cars, they aren't the most comfortable or highest quality. Some other setups to look at are: Koni Yellow/Ground Control, Tein Ss, KSport, BC Racing, D2 Racing. |
