2007 Accord VP sedan bolt pattern?
 

Can I put wheels from 2007 Accord EX sedan, 4 cyl, on a 2007 Accord VP sedan, 4 cyl?
That is, is the bolt pattern the same? Is the 17" wheel from the EX V6 also the same bolt pattern? I know I'd have to get a tire that had the same diameter.

Bolt circle is the same, along with offset & center bore. The only possible problems would be brake clearance, but I'm pretty sure EX, VP, or V-6 have the same brakes. And if you're going to a larger wheel than your stock ones, then it's OK.

Unfortunately for us VP owners, the VP comes with rear drum brakes... Boo. Not sure if that effects the clearance at all, I wouldn't imagine it wouldn't harm it.

Front brakes are bigger than rear, so it's really the front brakes that control the wheel clearance. Not that you'd really want to put smaller wheels on the back...

Drums are smaller than disks, as far as wheel clearance. So you could probably put a 14" wheel on the back if you really wanted to.

Good news, thanks for the input. Jim, you really know Accords. I can hardly tell you how annoyed I am that my 98 Accord is burning oil after how carefully I've maintained it. I was wondering if the cylinder's might have gotten too hot because I used premium fuel in it. Also, I did some fairly high speed cruising on interstates, but in 5th gear, the rpms were not particularly high.

The bolt-circle stuff was about 2007, right? Now you're talking about a different car 1998? A 1998 car with manual trans will have 4-bolt wheels and cannot accept any 2007 wheel.

Premium doesn't burn hotter. It actually burns slower to avoid pre-ignition in engines with higher compression ratio or boosted or a few other reasons. It shouldn't hurt anything. But any improvement that you notice with the butt-dyno is really caused by your wallet being lighter. There ARE cars that need premium, but your Accord isn't one of them (unless you've installed a turbo or something).

If you're determined to keep the car going, figure out where the oil is going. If your rings or sleeves are wearing, some oil-analysis place might be able to tell you about it. www dot blackstone-labs dot com is one of several that are out there.

Burns more oil during engine-braking?? Then look at intake valve stem seals.
