Brakes / rotors / scoring

2006 accord with 76,300 miles. Had mechanic put heavy duty brakes and rotors while back. My son tells me its been about 40,000 miles since. Not sure if that is accurate but I decided to pull tire and check pads and see if its time to replace. Pads have plenty of meat left but rotors are a bit scored. Maybe thats an inaccurate description. They have some imperfections. You can feel them and see them. No noise or vibration when braking. Use to seeing some unevenness in rotors after that many miles but this seems unusual. Anybody else run into this. Maybe its because of the heavy duty nature of the pads???????????

Either heavy duty nature of the pads, or the quality (or lack of) of the rotors themselves.

Also could be that the pads were not seated in correctly into the calipers when the brake job was done..

40,000 miles on pads and rotors? seems like a good interval to me, especially in a Northern Climate. I am not sure what Heavy Duty Pads and rotors are, but most certainly you did not get the Honda pads and rotors.
Last time I did brakes I used the Wagner Thermo Ceramic pads with the Centric Premium (E-Coating) rotors and and they are working out well.
And the best price is at Tire Rack!
