Downsizing rims/tires for 2017 touring
 

New to the forum and to honda. Recently got a 2017 accord touring. I was thinking about downsizing the wheels for winter what size do you guys recommend. In philly and I'm concerned about the potholes and snow. I want to pick up some used rims an all season tires to switch out. Thanks

Go to www.tirerack.com & go through the motions of picking wheels - especially look at winter packages for your car.

Look to see if they list anything called a "-1" option; that's 1 inch smaller wheels together with tires having taller sidewalls. If they don't list any "-1" fitments, then my first guess is you can't fit them over your brakes.

Buy real snow tires- all seasons are not going to work when you really needs them. I went to Discount Tires and had them mount some new Nikia snows on new rims and used them last year. Nokia makes the best snows and will be using them in a few weeks as I drive to Alaska. I too went to 18 inch rims with the snows. I have all my snows for all my 'winter' vehicles on separate rims. All mounted and ready to go.
