New wheels rubbing
 

Hi people I need some advice on tire sizes. I bought a tire and rim package for my '01 accord 4cyl sedan. They are Motegi MR7's with 225/50/17 for tires and the rears rub slightly when hitting bumps. They're rubbing the very edge of the wheel well that curls down so the scuff marks on the tires are almost on the sidewall. I know having 17's on an accord isn't uncommon so is it the tires that are too big? too wide or tall? If so, does anyone know what tire sizes I can put on this rim that wont rub the fender? What's that mean?

The little lip that is on the inside of the wheel well is what your tires are rubbing. You need to make them flush.

You can try to do it yourself or find someone in your area who has the tool and pay them. Some shops have them you just have to make some calls. You better off doing it right way with the tool. I did mine with a baseball bat and hair dryer. It came out ok but now my paint is peeling.

Ok thanks alot, I'd look into that as a last resort. Would still like to hear about different tire sizes though, I don't mind a narrower tire if that would solve my problem
