Offset
Hate to beat the dead horse coz, this may have been discussed in the past but I cannot seem to find the thread but I have an 03 CRV with aftermarket 17 in rims. I want to give them to my son and as far as I know - they have the same bolt pattern and the number of bolts - my question is does both cars have the same backspacing or offset or at least close so we can just remove and replace so I can buy a new set for my CRV. Thx for the tip.

1st thing we need to know is what vehicle is your sons make , year and model...
2ndly.. your CRV's bolt pattern is a 5 x 114.3 mm - The hub hole is 61.4 mm - the offset is between 35-45 mm - and your thread size is a 12x1.5 mm nut.. This should help you a little.. WheelBrokerAng :) |
forgot to mention my son's ride. 02 Coupe EX-L A4

For some reason I thought the 2002 Accord 4-cyl has 4-bolt wheels. Only the V-6 has 5-bolt pattern. Beginning in 2003 they all have 5-bolts.
If it wasn't for that, I bet they'd work. |

It should work. If its a universal 17in rim, you shouldh ave no clearnace issues. They are normally pretty conservatively sized. If anything, you may have to add a 3mm spacer to clear the brakes, but I doubt it would be needed.
You won't really know until you try it. |

I should've said that many wheels have the offset stamped somewhere on the backside of the wheel. Usually with the letters "ET" like ET41 for 41mm offset.
