Smaller wheels for 06 V6 EX?
 

I have an '06 EX V6 Accord Sedan. It came stock with 17" wheels, though some of the 4cyl models that year came with 16". Does anyone know if there is a problem fitting the 16" wheels to my car? TireRack.com only lists 17" (or larger) wheels as replacements, but I'd really prefer to move to a 16" if possible. I'd even trade someone my 17s for 16s if I was sure I would not run into a clearance problem with the calipers or something?

I'm not sure, but here's how you can check...

Some on-line parts places use the actual Honda part number. Look up the brake calipers & the rotors. Same part #? Then you can swap.

Also... Go to TireRack & pretend you're buying a snow-tire package. See if a "-1" fitment is shown.

If neither of those helps, then your best bet is to find a friend with a 4-cyl (16" wheels) & do a trial swap.

The V6 probably has bigger caliper and rotors.

Thanks for that suggestion. TireRack does show a 16" option for snow tires, so seems like I should be able to swap stock 16s for my stock 17s. I'm sure somebody will want them. I'm fairly sure the V6 models have different calipers, but I can see them through the wheels and there seems to be plenty of clearance.

I'll start looking around locally for someone to swap with. Anyone near Blacksburg, Va. interested?
