TPMS and new rims?

Since TPMS is wireless can I put all the sensors in the spare tire so the light doesn't come on without them being installed on the new rims since they are calibrated to the stock OEM rims? Any thoughts? will it work?

No sir will not work...

The sensors have a little switch that's triggered by the centrifugal force of the spinning wheel. They will not switch on if they're sitting in the trunk.

They aren't "calibrated" to the rim. What did you mean by that?

If that is the case then why is there so many problems with new rims and these sensors where the TPMS light doesn't go out on the dash?

Well...people dont keep their air pressure up is the biggest problem..they have there tires rotated and the dummy who does them doesn't even know they have sensors in them..just to name a couple..I think you might get the drift with those 2 ... :0 Yes? :)

Not sure about Honda's system, I suspect a dealer might have to program the car to accept the new set of sensors.

On my Saabs, the warning light goes off for a few days, then eventually the car "learns" the new sensors.
