I checked the shift cable and that seems to be working properly. I did finaly speak to Honda corporate yesterday and the case manager said it does indeed sounds like the transmission is dying. Luckily, he said they will try to work with me once it does go and they can get the dealer to duplicate the problem. I guess the fact that this is the 6th accord we have had will help. I just hope it goes soon so I can just get it replaced and be done with this issue. I will keep my fingers crossed that Honda will pay for the whole new transmission and not just a small percentage of it.
