Charge/Door Ajar/Brake Lamp Lights Flashing
New member and first-time poster.
I have a 2000 Accord V6, 93,000 miles. The battery, brake lamp/door ajar and brakelights all stayed on and began blinking after starting the engine. Onmy way home, headlights and dash lights went dim and then transmission disengaged, coasted 5 blocks to my house. The engine was still running and seemed normal.
Battery is about 1 yr old.Removed it and had it tested, got free replacement. Put new battery in and all was good for 5 miles then the same lights started flashing as before.
Replaced alternator19 months ago.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

When they replaced the battery did they test the alternator?
Did the tranny shift itself into neutral, as in selector still in drive but tranny acting like it wasn't?

I took the battery out of the car and took it in for testing. Didn't think car would make it to nearest service. I did not have the alternator tested.
Gear selector was still in drive but car acted like it was in neutral.

There is really only three ways I can readily think of that would allow a car to act like it was in neutral when D was selected.
1) An axle popped out just a little bit.
2) Tranny was slipping badly/is shot
3) A TCU issue....possibly....
Start the car, put a tester on the alternator and see what it's putting out....

The transmission seemed fine on my 5 mile ride today. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with the electrical problem.
When I test the alternator, can I just go off the terminal on the back of the alternator with the + and the alternator housing with the -? Thanks.
