Fn vss
Alright need some help...replaced my ecm. The 5v on the orange wire is gone so thats good but i still have no speedo/odomterter. So far ive replaced the cluster (didnt fix the problem so i put the original back in. I replaced the tcm, didnt fix it so the original is back in the car. Ive replaced the vss twice now.....
These are my codes (aka clues)
CEL CODE 7 (TPS I THINK)
D4 FLASHES CODE 4 (VSS)
Would a bad TPS cause the speedo to go out?? I dont like throwing parts at a vehicle and i feel like thats all ive been doing. I troubleshooted the short on the Orange signal wire to the ecm...fixed that still the same problem.
I had the battery disconnected for 15 min or so while i swapped in the new ecm, i figured that Would clear the codes. ...the cel wasnt on until i drove around the block and the d4 started flashing. ..
Help is very much appreciated....

Since you have a D4 code 4 (VSS), it is likely the CEL code is 17 (VSS) instead of code 7. There probably was one long flash preceding the seven short flashes.
Since you've changed the VSS twice before, let me see if I can think up some testing.

I had a code 17 before Im pretty sure. I watched it flash and re counted a few times expecting the code 17 againg but im 95% its a 7 steady flashes. ..i ll recheck. I have no symptoms of a bad tps. Im going to recheck the voltages at the vss connector once the wife gets home with the car. This has to be a simple fix...the car runs great....thanks redbull
Im also going to test the TPS just for kicks though im sure its fine...

Your Accord V6 has the OBD-II (DLC) port behind the ashtray. You can get the codes read instead of jumping the blue service check connector and counting the flashes.
Unless you're in California, many auto parts stores will read the OBD codes for free.

That tach doesnt work or work intermitantly at higher rpm...this is a new issue. I forgot to disconnect my jumper wire in the diagnostic plug before my wife took the car for a drive. Once i realized this i pulled out the jumper wire and reset the battery. Thats when i started noticing the tach no t working....i think i hate hondas
