Default [HELP] Installing LED Lights

hello, I want to install LED side marker (signal) lights.
Is it necessary to buy a LED Load Resistor?

Most likely yes. If not, your turn signal will blink extremely fast b/c your car will see such a small load it will think the bulb is burnt out.

I actually have 2! One is brand new, and the other was used for about 5 minutes. Perfect working order. Send me an offer if you would like them!

No, if you splice into the existing harness. Tyler, he will still be blinking the same filament turn signal with the added load of the sidemarker, so they will actually blink a bit slower.

So do I need the resistor? I asked around among my friends & majority have OHMs resistor, but they told me I need to find the correct OHMs for my vehicle. I believe the correct OHMs for my car is 6 OHMs.

If your not replacing the bulb, and only adding one to the circuit no you don't need the resistor.

Well I'm planning to replace the bulb from filament to LEDs as soon I get my housing replace.

I guess we will have to wait & see.

Now I understand!

Like they said, if you are wiring the sidemarker to the existing turn signal bulb in order to get the sidemarker to blink then no you don't need one. However, if you change both the signal and the sidemarker to led's then yes, you will most likely need one.

Brandon, the lights won't actually blink slower. The only difference is that the LED will light up faster than the bulb.

Okay, Dragon.

Are you replacing JUST the bulb from a filament to an LED bulb?

Or are you adding an additional lens housing and bulb to the side of the car?
