2001 Accord Coupe EX Leather starting to tear on side of seats

Back when I first got my car, the leather on the stitching of the side portion of the seat closest to the doors was discolored on both the drivers and passengers side. It stayed that way for years but today I noticed that on the drivers side it's finally torn a little. Anyone have any advice on the best way to prevent it from getting worse?

is it just on the seam? sew it shut.

It's not just on the seam. It's already torn a little, so I don't think it can be sewn on. Here's a picture of it.
