Got my windows tinted and it came out great. Didn't roll the windows up or down for two weeks to let the tint "cure". Well, the first time the drivers side window went down and then up I noticed a nice size scratch in the tint. I tried the other windows and the passenger side windows (front and back) did the same thing. Has anybody else had this happen and is there any solution to this? I am getting the windows retinted, but want to make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks...

 

This is the first I've heard of it.... ask your tint guy what he thinks, they should be able to see it clearly.

 

i just recently got my windows tinted and this didnt happen to me. my tint guy only told me to keep the windows up for 3 days. you should just take it back to the place you got the tints and tell them to redo the tints.

 

Talk to the installer about replacing the hard plastic inside the door (window guides?) with a soft material. This is a common issue with 7th gen Accords but I've never heard of it happening so quickly.

 

where is the scratch? is it across the entire window or just at the top?

I heard about this issue before. I also tinted the windos(2 months ago) and few days ago I noticed this fine scratch going vertical by the side mirror control button area. Let me know if there is a solution to it

 

i didnt have this on my SE...but it is on my v6 with a vengance. dealer (tinted it originally) has already replaced the tint twice, and last time replaced the guides with a felt strip...or so they said...still coming back.

 

mine did it in my lude.

it was the middle support that pushes on the window as the window rolls down inside the door. I ended up checking to make sure the felt was ok.

I actually ended up pushing it back from the window a little bit and it never happened again.

 

I have the same problem as well. I got my tint on a Saturday and let all windows down in the car on Thursday and when I let them back up all of them had small vertical scratches. Not a major problem right now.
