Short Changed on 400.00 Worth of Wood Trim Options?
I just received my 2008 Accord EX V6-L with NAV in light Silver with a grey Leather interior. A very sharp looking car. That style is growing on me since I first was "just so so"based on the pictures I saw.
I went for a load of options which included a "wood like "finish on the steering wheel for 150.00 and another 250.00 (plus install) for what I thought was "wood like" plastic similar to that shown by Honda in the large-sized deluxe brochure. You have to beg for this brochure as they are hard to come by.
For my 250.00 plus install I got two very dark (Walnut colored curved strips on each side of the dash, Nothing More! The Honda brochure showslight wood simulations on the door panels, console andcurved strips. I believe I got short changed as my 98 Accord had wood simulations on the doors, dash and console for around 250.00. I will have to find out what the dealer says and report later.
Has anyone else purchased these options? What is on Yours???
What you're describing definitely fits the description for the official Honda woodgrain trim kits. That's all they are - replacement pieces for the silver-painted trim on the lower dash andthe steering wheel. Honda doesn't make any additional pieces available.
The installation for the steering wheel pieces is actually much more work that you would guess from looking at it.
You weren't short-changed - they're just not a very good value.

Thanks for the replies,
Yes, thet wood finish is shown, as I indicated, in the fancy brochure asI described. I could find not view what I ordered, except via the brochure pictured. It is true that the otion is not the greatest value for the buck.
Yes, it is also true that the accessories parts list doesn't show the door area wood simulation which I was not aware of. And lastly,as we all know Honda andall other manufactuers always state that specifications are always subject to change.
I am not really upsetas I know I am blessed. My car is getting easier to use as I am getting used to it. I was initially over-whelmed with the Navigation Commands, but now marvel at my ability to set functions and Naviate via voice commands. I am an option bug as you might have guessed.
