Amber to Red turns...

Amber to Red turns...
what are my options for making my rear turns on my 04 sedan red instead of "amber"?
ive thought of:
using a dremel hereand there on a clear bulband/or the socket (because their foolproofed w/ little notches), then using red bulb covers that autozone has
or
going to a junkyard looking for 2 accord to ****** the 3rd brake light housing from, then snip snip, solder solder
or
trying the red bulb covers on the amber and cross fingers
or
experimenting with red paint, however i doubt this will work
or
something else one of you guys think up.

RE: Amber to Red turns...
I had to do something similar to my tail lights. The turn signal housing was clear, and all the bulbs were clear so it would be illegal.
All I did was I bought some big amber turn signal bulbs
Stripped about a 1/2 in. of insulation on each wire to the signal socket
Then soldered one wire to each of the wires
Then put electrical tape to cover the oem socket
Then I stripped the newly added wires so that about 1/2 at the end was bare wire and wrapped them under the leads for the bulb and soldered them. Then I just used some tape to hold them in the hole. Its not like anyone can see it.
It was easy, and if I ever switch back tail lights I still have my oem socket avalible. Good luck!

whilei wasentertaining the idea of painting the clear lense red, cutting and soldering sockets like 19accord97 did,or doing something else... i came across these. i got them in the mail today and just put them on.

theyre great for color. they are just a little too big. but they fit into the socket no matter. the reason i wanted these red is because i have a light bar under my rear bumper that uses red leds and when signaling fellow drivers would see one set of red leds and one orange taillight flashing. kinda dorky. not anymore!!
ill get pics up soon. im goin out right now so maybe tomorrow.
