Default Excited!

My headlights for the swap came in today and I wont have anytime to put them in until Saturday. They actually arrived last Friday but I was at work and UPS brought them back Monday. Ugh! I want them NOW!

Looks good! Hopefully the light output is decent though.

As far as the led's, I would wire them to a 5v power source instead of 12v. Many people who get ebay projectors wire the led's to 12v and they burn out after a few months b/c the voltage is to high. Besides, I have personally tested ebay headlight led's w/ 12v and 5v and during daylight the difference is none and at night there is somewhat of a difference.

Even 5 volts is over volting them, LEDs want about 3.3v depending on the color. You should use a resistor, but a 5v source will be ok.

True, however, the car will most likely be long gone before the led's die.

Not true 5v can kill a LED in a year, some LEDs last some don't. Trust me if I know anything it's LEDs. They are designed to operate around 3v depending on the color, 5v is almost double the voltage. Also the color changes with the higher voltage.

Why do you keep saying ebay projectors? I didnt order these from ebay. I did find the same style on ebay for alot cheaper but didnt buy the since I figured the quality would suffer. I paid roughly 167.00 for these and on eay the were much cheaper. Where is a good 3v source I can tap into?

And i really hate to triple post but i thought I might add that im using Halogen bulbs with these and i would think the light output will bbe no less than what i have now with regular bulbs right?

not necessarily. aftermarket projectors for hondas (all years) seem to have poor output unless you do some kind of HID setup.

Oh, and no offense, but those tails are hideous.

My car came with projectors on it with halogens and the light output was absolutely terrible. I couldn't see anything. I took them out and smashed them shortly there after lol.
