headlight bulbs/remote lock/unlock
good point. that would probably help a lot, but it sounds/seems more expensive to me. i'm trying to talk her into getting the new civic si, but she doesn't like the front end. anyway, the cheaper the solution the better in case we get rid of it in the coming year or two.

yes its just keyless entry. i didnt really wanna spend like 400 bucks to get a good one. ehh its runs good i just wish it had more power lol. i hate how the accords lack power stock so it takes alot to get them going
true. at least you have options though! there's not a whole lot i can do to my rx8 - intakes, exhaust, etc don't really add much. the new accords look pretty powerful though.
that sounds perfect. keyless entry for around 100 bucks will give her a nice xmas present!

for boost yes, but the crappiest turbo kit out there is a 3k minimum plus install and tuning. i'm saying the "standard" stuff like intake, exhaust, flywheel, etc don't yield but single digit hp gains, unlike non-rotaries where an intake and exhaust will get you 20 to 30 hp. sure, the people that have turbo'd or even sc'd theirs are getting over 300 hp, but they paid a pretty penny for that. definitely worth it, and i plan on doing it, i just don't have that kind of money right now, that's all.

you've gotta be kidding!!!!! The renesis engine is perfect for boost ...... it has no theoretical maximum boost level or rpm!!!

you're looking at bolt-ons all wrong ...... they are not really made to increase peak HP! Also, whoever told you that they made 20-30 HP will NOT be able to show that on a dyno. Bolt-on mods typically allow the engine to reach high rpms quicker. A lightened flywheel is a chunk of metal, hence no HP increase ...... on the otherhand, it might get you to 7000 rpms almost a second quicker which will definately make you faster. The I/H/E principles are the same regardless of the internal mechanism of the engine.
we should change the title of this thread now, ha ha!
i got 20-30 hp from the ads. i just confirmed that by looking up k&n intake for an accord and a greddy exhaust, both rated at 8-10 hp increase. i haven't seen dynos, but ad vs ad you'll see 2-3 hp ads for the rx8 and 8-10 hp ads for non-rx8s. point being mazda cranked out a lot of hp from the get go and didn't leave much aftermarket room for improvement. the stock exhaust and stock intake are already pretty good. check out rx8club.com, or racingbeat.com and you'll see what i'm talking about. it's well known that bolt-ons don't do much on the rx8, not because the principles are different, but because mazda didn't leave much room for improvement, that's the key difference here.
i know the lightened flywheel doesn't add hp, it revs quicker, reaching peak hp faster, but essentially that's like adding hp, or better put it prevents as much hp loss.

Hi,
As for halogen bulbs, I would stick with one of the more reputable manufacturers like Philips or Osram/Sylvania. Philips makes an X-treme Power product that claims to be up to 80% brighter. I have not tried these bulbs myself, but I did try the PhilipsVisionPlus bulbs about 6 or 7 years ago in my Prelude and I was impressed with their brightness and the length and width of the beam of light, and they only claimed to be 50% brighter. The Xtreme bulb is a newer product (http://www.nam.lighting.philips.com/...tremepower.php). Osram has a Night Breaker bulb that claims to be up to 90% brighter but I do not think they make one that fits the Accord, but could be wrong.Osram is based in Europe and owns Sylvania here in the USA. Try not get fingerprints on any headlight bulbs when you install them, i heard it shortens bulb life.
You can find these bulbs at:
www.suvlights.com (USA)
www.powerbulbs.com (UK/Europe, but free shipping worldwide)
www.autolamps-online.com (UK/Europe, free shipping worldwide.I bought my VisionPlus bulbs here & were delivered within a week)
