Monting door guards - 09 coupe

Has anyone added the side door guards on an angle? - just does not seem right straight down the side - not sure of which way to go...

Update: Any way you do it, messes up the lines and cleanliness of the car, IMO after thinking about it. I'll forego the strips and keep dent doctor on retainer....
