My car's Update
13 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, how's it going?
Its been quite a while since I've been on here, so I though I'd give an update on my car. Here is my car 1 month after I got it......bone stock. Attachment 19543 Attachment 19544 First mod: replace headlights with blackhoused ones Attachment 19545 Attachment 19546 Unfortunately, over the past year and a half, my car has not gone unscathed. The first spot happened in a parking lot (someone hit the car while I was at a bookstore, and then just left), and the second was from an incident with a bike. Attachment 19547 Attachment 19548 Within the last few months, I started getting into the modding game (as much as a part-time job and car payment will allow). I decided to change out a few parts, here's what I've done so far. '94 OEM Accord grill and '94 OEM front lip Attachment 19549 Attachment 19550 Honda Access JDM Authentic Coupe Visors (I was lucky enough to find a set) Attachment 19551 Attachment 19552 1994-95 Accord EX Alloy wheels Attachment 19553 Attachment 19554 Attachment 19555 This Friday I will be replacing my eBay headlights with Depos (JDM replicas) *pics to come* That's all I've done so far. However, since my car will be paid off in July, I have plenty of stuff planned. Future: -Function and Form Type 2 coilovers -'94 OEM rear lip -AEM short ram intake -MagnaFlow muffler with custom piping -much more, still haven't decided yet. |

Again, been a long time. Finally started working again, after 9 month unemployed.....feels good.
Because I didn't have a job, modding was put on hold. Now that I'm working again, I finally was able to do a bunch of much needed maintenance to the car. Runs like a champ once again. Also in the process of adding a few things to liven up the appearance. How she currently sits: Attachment 18330 Mods so far: Engine: -AEM short ram intake Suspension/wheels: -Eibach Sportlines -KYB GR-2s -94 Accord EX alloy wheels Exterior: -Depo blackhoused JDM headlights -94/95 Accord grill -94/95 Accord front lip -Authentic JDM window visors Interior: -Pioneer DEH-1200MP headunit Future plans: -Full suspension revamp ______-Koni Yellows ______-Ground Control coilover sleeves with custom spring rates ______-EX rear disk swap w/ 5-lug swap all around ______-aftermarket rear sway bar ______-Full FFC package (LCAs, toe arms, 3-point strut bar) ______-NSX or Legend 2-piston front brake upgrade -94/95 Accord rear lip -SiR bumper lights -Magnaflow dual-tip muffler w/ custom piping -SIR front lip -Mugen or Wald grill -94/95 Accord SiR wing -fog lights Recently went to a friend's house so he could do a couple test panels on my car for when he details it later this month. I'll let the pictures do the talking..... Well, no real update, except that I've decided to push back some of my plans until later this month. I just won't have the time to do a quality job by this weekend like i wanted to, so instead of just doing a rush job, I'm gonna wait and do it right.
Hopefully next time I update this I'll have my sidemarkers, SiR bumper signals, and rear lip installed, and all of my trim repainted. Looking to get a full 3-step paint restoration detail job done too. I somehow picked up a dent on my hood, which I will hopefully get removed this summer as well. Here's a few pics of the car as she sits dirty.......car is noticeably lower after installing KYB GR-2s, and rides much, much nicer. Attachment 18282 Attachment 18283 Attachment 18284 |

was snooping around Craigslist, and found Arospeed front and rear strut tower bars for a steal, so I picked them up.
Attachment 18152 Installed the front, will do the rear during the week (yay....almost stock dirty engine bay shot) Attachment 18153 |
The headlights are so nice, I like them,:) and the tails your friends had are also great.
|
Thanks! I absolutely love those headlights.

Just last week, I picked up a set of BNIB Tanabe sway bars for an absolute steal. Since I have an LX, I have to get all of the hardware and brackets etc. to mount the rear sway bar. In the next few weeks, I'm going to be buying all new bushings, as well as getting all the brackets from my friend's extra rear subframe.
Attachment 17890 Also, since I've had a bit of free time, I've been doing a few things to try and keep the car in good condition...... I polished my headlights for the first time since I've bought them. I am really impressed as to how well the Depo's have held up. No hazing whatsoever, and hardly any pitting from driving. Attachment 17891 Cleaned the engine bay with some Engine Brite......I would love to spend a day or two going over the bay with simple green and a tooth brush, but with work and school, that's not going to happen. Still, I was surprised at how well this stuff worked. Before: Attachment 17892 After: Attachment 17893 |
Doing good work! what do you have planned for the future?
|
These are my future plans.......
-FatFour Customs engine bay package (billet aluminum battery tie down, radiator brackets, and fender washers) -Koni Yellow shocks/Ground Control coilover sleeves with extended tophats. -Energy Suspension Master bushing kit -new front brakes (most likely Brembo blanks with Hawk HPS pads) -rear disk swap -wheels.....gonna try and find a set of used Gram Light 57s or something similar -5-speed swap |
You should have a good handling and good looking ride after those mods.
|
Not some much good looking (my paint suuuuuuucks lol), but good handling....yes. That's what I'm going for. I want to get my suspension completely upgraded before I do any extensive engine or bodywork to it.
After the 5-speed swap, I'm thinking of giving the car a little bit of track time. A local track to me has $20 time attack sessions, and it would be fun to see how well it performs. |

Well, longtime no update. Haven't done much to the car, just a few small things, but she's still pulling DD duty like a champ.
Picked up some authentic Stanley SiR bumper signal lights. Front end is pretty much set for the time being. Attachment 17697 De-ambered the tail lights, I never really liked the orange square visible through the housing. Installed a amber bulb to keep it legal :p Attachment 17698 Picked up a set of clear sidemarkers....not sure if I want to install them or not, since my fenders are still pristine. http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/SDC10676.jpg And finally, after months of slacking, I got off my lazy butt and installed my sway bars. I had to do a little bit of research concerning installing a rear sway bar on an LX trim, because they do not come with one from the factory, like the EX does. I pretty much determined the best way to do it was swap out the whole rear subframe. THe LX subframe does not have the holes drilled and tapped for the center mounting brackets of the bars. Picked an EX subframe up from a friend who luckily had it lying around. Attachment 17699 After many hours of work, a few breaks, and a ton of brute force (no air tools to remove parts in place for 17 years ), I got the rear installed. Attachment 17700 Still need to do the front sway bar, since I was pooped after the rear install last night. Should be a piece of cake though, since its just swapping the OEM for the Tanabe, and replacing the bushings with ES polyurethane ones. Even with the stock front sway, the car handles much better. The rear end really feels planted to the ground. Definitely less understeer. Will update when the front is done as well. |
Looking good. Your car is that low just with sportlines?
|
Thanks, and yes it is. The Sportlines drop the car 1.8" front, and 1.7" rear. Its a reasonable drop, still very drivable. However, in June, when I swapped from OEM shocks to KYB GR2s, I noticed they actually lowered the car a bit more. The center of the car actually scrapes on speedbumps now if I'm going anything more than a crawl.
|
Must be the KYBs because I have sportlines on my accord and its not nearly as low as yours.
|

That is what I figured.
Here's a sort of comparison. Dropped it another fingers worth best I could figure. Stock shocks: Attachment 17695 KYBs: Attachment 17696 |
Thats a good ride height, still got the same plans as you did back in october?
|
Yes sir. I had about half of the money saved up for my coilovers, but as errbody knows.....stuff happens. Got 2 flats within a month, because of my tires dry rotting, and me hitting a piece of wood on the freeway. So I just replaced all 4.
I have begun saving again, and will hopefully have them by June. |
Jees you must really like good handling upgrading from your current set up.

Another little update:
I had a little run-in with a tumbling couch (yes, you read that right, a couch) on the freeway a few weeks ago....... I was VERY lucky. If I had been going a few MPH faster, I would have slammed head-on into the couch. Luckily, I hopped on the brakes in time, and was able to avoid the majority of the couch. The only damage was to my driver's side mirror, which was completely sheared off by the couch. The mirror was shot into the back seat through the open window, and almost clocked me upside the head in the process  Here are pics of the damage: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ine=1364784425 https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ine=1364784425 After searching a few junkyards, I finally found another black coupe, and snagged its mirror. Also, I removed my window visors to be restored by my friend. After years of sitting in the sun, they became quite dull. My friend discovered how to best restore them, and after seeing the results on his set, I couldn't pass it up. My dull visor is on top, and his restored one is below (for reference, his visor looked exactly like mine pre-restoration). https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ine=1364784425 I got a big update dropping in the next few weeks though.......stay tuned! |
Is it bad that I read the couch comment and thought "he must be from California". Then looked and saw you are from California?
|
Not in the least. You'd laugh at some of the things my friends have almost been hit by on the freeways.
