Default new headlight bulb

my right side headlight bulb just burnt out and until i can save up enough money for a HID kit, i need to replace the blown out bulb.
i found 100W bulbs for a decent price and was wondering if it will melt the housing or the headlight.
i realized that the burnt out bulb was only 55W.

any help would be greatly appreciated. damn, those HIDs sure are looking nice as of late. lol

for high powered halogens, you need ceramic plugs or a high power relay kit. The heat usually melts the plug, not the housing, but that is also possible. I've used 80W 9006's and 100W 9005's on a 2000 accord with OEM headlights with a relay kit. No problems with the housings.
