That's awesome! Don't see moonies on Accords often! Or ever I love it. It totally works with the electric concept. I've always thought they looked kinda futuristic. You've gotta get us some pictures soon!

Here's an interesting reality-check of the whole EV idea for those who might be new at looking at it. This is a quote from a reputable company for all of the pieces I will need to peform my EV conversion.

There are two caveats - I still need to make / source a motor mount plate to adapt to the Honda transaxle - say $1000-2000. Secondly, I'll use GBS instead of ThunderSky batteries - they are better, but add about $4000 to the total.

So - we're looking at more than $40 K here!

wow for that price you could build a bisimoto 455hp f22 and run in the 9's in 1/4mile and still have about half your money left over.

Yep! Or my favorite comparison, this thousand-horse pump gas IC engine for my play car -

Another point - with the thousand-amp controller, 214V battery pack, and motor I'll be using, I'll have several hundred horsepower available for brief periods (under 30 seconds), before thermal foldback of controller current.

I do intend to run 6-second 0-60s, and thirteen-second quarter miles - I've got a whole spare car, so breaking the tranny or axles (under a hundrd dollars each, anyway) is not an issue!

Forrest - not gonna' spend that much for wimpiness

Any updates on this? I've been very curious about how it's going!

No new EV-specific news - I did get the junker '92 to develop my adapter plate and interface - the '91's being nice to drive, what with the new four-hundred Watt amp and custom kickpanels mounting high-end Polk component drivers and small-volume Kicker subs . . .

Hope to pull the junker engine out this weekend to start measuring the transaxle bellhousing.

I'm still fooling with the EV Profiler; trying to drive my morning commute slow enough to do it in under 21 kWh; that is, where a 2012 Leaf would get me to work.

Guess I could post a pic of the speaker mounting - the resulting "sound stage" is nice and high - certainly above dash level with your eyes closed.
